Day-169: We are Getting Closer...

We had a call from the SM and were advised that the project is on schedule and that various inspections are being organised. The first will be the inspection from Metricon. Then will follow the inspection from the Council. These will happen in the two coming weeks. Around the first week of Oct we will get a chance to inspect the house and then when we get the Interim-Occupation Certificate from the Council we could move into the house. Obviously we need to get our landscaping and driveway done.

As per our SM, the following has been done:

• Tiling and bathroom accessories installation have been done in all the bathrooms
• Spa has been installed
• Electrical are all done
• Plumbing on the downpipes on the both sides of the house has been done
• Painting on the Portico done
• General cleanup done for the building materials
• Cupboards installation done
• Fireplace installation done

The following will be done in this week:

• Toilet shower screens
• Whirleybird
• Appliances installation (may be a bit later...)
• Flooring, wooden, tiles and the carpeting.
• Outside painting
• Another round of cleanup inside and outside (Our SM has assured us that the tree roots sitting in the front will be cleaned as well in the final cleanup.)

Day-163: Things are Happening...

We have not been able to go inside the house for a really long time now and as a result we hardly could conceive what is going inside. Today when we had been to the front of the house we saw some empty cartons related with fans, heating globes, toilets seats and things like that. Looking at these things we could perhaps make out that the following would have been done, but we have yet to receive the status report from our SM.

• Toilet seats installation completed
• Electricals near completion as we could see the points outside to be almost completed. May be some work is left inside. No idea!
• Painting inside should be complete, but not sure...
• Heaters/Exhaust Fans installation on way in baths
• Ground floor painting partially done (not a good work though).

• Cupboards installation
• Toilet shower screens
• Spa installation ??
• Outside plumbing
• Outside painting
• Painting on the portico
• General cleanup
• Wooden Flooring/Carpeting

Day-152: Garage Doors Installed

The garage doors are installed and that is a wonderful news as the house looks much better now.

Day-151: Some More Update...

Have been updated by the SM that the following things are in progress:

• Tiling in the baths
• The rendering in the balcony has been done
• Tiling in the Foyer and the Entrance yet to be done
• Doors have been painted again and finalysed perhaps

Once the tiling is done, then there will be more painting in the house. The screens will go in the bathroom. Spa will be installed as well then.

We have seen the garage door has been installed. I will put the photo tomorrow. Because of the garage door, the house looks more complete, although the painting is still incomplete from outside.

The issue with the Fireplace height should have been resolved as well as per the SM. He said that the height of the Fireplace will be 400mm. Hopefully with the steel flange, it would come out good.

We have an appointment with the SM on coming Wednesday and then we will have some photos to put here...

Looks like not many things are left now...

Day-139: Carpentry Completed and Much More...

As per the update from the SM, the following things are done in the last two weeks:

• Looks like the carpentry is almost complete. Kitchen, Loundry, Pantry areas are all done. All the doors are installed and so are the sliding doors. 
• One coat of painting has been done on the ceiling and the primer  has been done on the walls all around inside the house. 
• Waterproofing in all the baths and the balcony has been done as well.
• Rain tanks installed as well

Next week there will be work on the following:

• Benchtops in Kitchen, Loundry, Pantry, baths
• Tiling in the baths (there will be quite some work out there as there are five baths)
• We were told by the SM that there was some issue with the Firelace height which would be rectified in the coming week as well.
• More painting...
• Also, we have requested our SM to get the downpipes done as otherwise when it rains, the water rushes to the neighbour's property. Hopefully this will be rectified this week.

I have sent the measurements of all our appliances to our SM to make sure that all of them will fit into  their respective places.

In the meantime, we have been sent the invoice for the FIXING STAGE. So hopefully the momentum of the work will be on...

We have started meeting people for driveway, fence, gates etc... The good thing is that we have got people's recommendation which has made our life easier as we do not need to hunt people around.
Perhaps it is too early, but within a month we need to gear up our efforts on this so that we could get these things done as soon as we are handed over the keys.

Day-130: Carpentry Starts...

The stairs are installed, we have been told. So now both the floors are connected. As part of the carpentry, this was the first thing. Now all  the doors will be done in a day or two. Then the kitchen cabinets will follow.

Day-125: Gyprock Done Inside

Now the work has started happening inside the house, which is exciting... On Saturday happened to look around the house and Gyprock was being done. Hopefully it should have been finished by now. We are hoping that the stairs will be installed this week and then the doors/sliding doors installation should follow after that. Looks like the way they have defined the FIXING STAGE, it would not be far away. The coming two months will be painful in a way if things go slow as by now we would have paid almost 90%.

Hopefully the things will move as per the schedule...
