Today was the inspection by us organised by our SM, Jerome Mills. It went very smoothly surprisingly. There were a few defects found by us, but nothing major and no show stopper. He was very cordial in accepting the list of the defects. He assured us that they would be fixed in the next week. Here is the list that we sent to him:
1. Mirror in the main bed room ensuite missing2. Scratches in the window glasses:
(a) right side of the sliding window in RUMPUS
(b) back side of the sliding window in RUMPUS
(c) left side sliding window in BED4 upstairs
Jerome agreed to get them replaced.
3. Why chrome waste in vanities upstairs, but not in the
downstairs guest room ensuite? They are different, and
we would like to have as they are as upstairs.
4. JBOX and false bottom in kitchen for under cover downlights
5. Contract, Point#15 Driveway Gradient Profile to be provided
by Metricon
6. Blank plate in main bed room for the network cables
different than the other felt streep blank plates provided
in the RUMPUS and STUDY. Could they be changed in the
main bed as they are in RUMPUS?
7. Flyscreens missing. They have not been installed as yet.
We thanked Jerome for his project management and making our dream home possible. The house looks good from inside. Because of the time constraint, we could not take any photos, but we hope that after the account settlement, we should be able to take the final snaps and post them here.
The house looks good after all the appliances installed and the cleanup done.
We got the power connected as well and the tree roots which were in-front of the house were also removed. We got the insurance of the building and contents insurance organised as well which is must before we get the final settlement with Metricon.
We would like put forward very positive comments about Jerome Mills who was the Metricon project manager. The whole project was smooth for us. And it was possible because of Jerome. We wonder if we would be able to thank him enough. The fact is that because of him and the kind of quality that we got in the house we will recommend METRICON to all our friends. A job well done, Jerome.
Will post some photos very soon...

Day-187: Some More Photos...
Here are some more photos. Looks exciting, does it not?
The rangehood is installed too, and the Oven has been delivered and hopefully it would be installed in a day or two.
The splash in the kitchen needs grouting. There are a few touchups related with painting being organised as well. Hopefully we are on target for our inspection on 4th Oct.

Day-169: We are Getting Closer...
We had a call from the SM and were advised that the project is on schedule and that various inspections are being organised. The first will be the inspection from Metricon. Then will follow the inspection from the Council. These will happen in the two coming weeks. Around the first week of Oct we will get a chance to inspect the house and then when we get the Interim-Occupation Certificate from the Council we could move into the house. Obviously we need to get our landscaping and driveway done.
As per our SM, the following has been done:

Day-163: Things are Happening...
We have not been able to go inside the house for a really long time now and as a result we hardly could conceive what is going inside. Today when we had been to the front of the house we saw some empty cartons related with fans, heating globes, toilets seats and things like that. Looking at these things we could perhaps make out that the following would have been done, but we have yet to receive the status report from our SM.
Here are some of the recent photos of the house:
- Toilet seats installation completed
- Electricals near completion as we could see the points outside to be almost completed. May be some work is left inside. No idea!
- Painting inside should be complete, but not sure...
- Heaters/Exhaust Fans installation on way in baths
- Ground floor painting partially done (not a good work though).
Pending work:
- Cupboards installation
- Toilet shower screens
- Spa installation ??
- Outside plumbing
- Outside painting
- Painting on the portico
- General cleanup
- Wooden Flooring/Carpeting
- Whirleybird
- Appliances installation
- Front door painting (another coat??)
- Fireplace installation ??
