Day-197: We Get House Key...

How wonderful the feeling is to get the our home key! Jerome organised to come to our home and the final settlement letter was issued to us. We organised the final payment and handover documents along with the keys of the house was provided to us. Jerome was very courteous in making me understand the handing over procedures and was pretty elaborate on explaining how the things work in the house. There will be another meeting with him in the next week to explain how all the appliances work in the house.

We have already arranged the removalists and will be moving in on coming Saturday. We have been doing the packing for some time now and we will be taking some stuff ourself before hand to get ourselves organised.

In the meantime we are organising the down lights and landscaping and concreting around the house. There will be some quite busy days ahead of us.

We have to work on the defects list as well which surprisingly does not seem to be that long and so we are happy about it.

Here are some the of the photos that we took today:

Day-193: Inspection Done...

Today was the inspection by us organised by our SM, Jerome Mills. It went very smoothly surprisingly. There were a few defects found by us, but nothing major and no show stopper. He was very cordial in accepting the list of the defects. He assured us that they would be fixed in the next week. Here is the list that we sent to him:

1. Mirror in the main bed room ensuite missing2. Scratches in the window glasses:
(a) right side of the sliding window in RUMPUS
(b) back side of the sliding window in RUMPUS
(c) left side sliding window in BED4 upstairs
Jerome agreed to get them replaced.
3. Why chrome waste in vanities upstairs, but not in the
downstairs guest room ensuite? They are different, and
we would like to have as they are as upstairs.
4. JBOX and false bottom in kitchen for under cover downlights
5. Contract, Point#15 Driveway Gradient Profile to be provided
   by Metricon
6. Blank plate in main bed room for the network cables
different than the other felt streep blank plates provided
in the RUMPUS and STUDY.   Could they be changed in the
main bed as they are in RUMPUS?
7. Flyscreens missing. They have not been installed as yet.

We thanked Jerome for his project management and making our dream home possible. The house looks good from inside. Because of the time constraint, we could not take any photos, but we hope that after the account settlement, we should be able to take the final snaps and post them here.

The house looks good after all the appliances installed and the cleanup done.

We got the power connected as well and the tree roots which were in-front of the house were also removed. We got the insurance of the building and contents insurance organised as well which is must before we get the final settlement with Metricon.

We would like put forward very positive comments about Jerome Mills who was the Metricon project manager. The whole project was smooth for us. And it was possible because of Jerome. We wonder if we would be able to thank him enough. The fact is that because of him and the kind of quality that we got in the house we will recommend METRICON to all our friends. A job well done, Jerome.

Will post some photos very soon...

Day-187: Some More Photos...

Here are some more photos. Looks exciting, does it not?
The rangehood is installed too, and the Oven has been delivered and hopefully it would be installed in a day or two.

The splash in the kitchen needs grouting. There are a few touchups related with painting being organised as well. Hopefully we are on target for our inspection on 4th Oct.

Day-186: The List is Getting Smaller...

Out of the following list, I presume most of them are done:
  • Toilet shower screens - all installed
  • Appliances installation (A.C. and the Water Heaters installed)
  • Flooring - wooden, tiles and the carpeting - all done.
  • Termites protection - done
  • Splashback tiling done, grouting is left which should be done in the coming week
  • Quality Inspection - 1st round completed
